What are the crystals made of?
They are compacted baking soda crystals with a soluble, safe food grade blue dye. When exposed to moisture, the blue dye on the surface of the baking soda crystals is dissolved and turns blue
What is the role/benefit of crystals in the product?
The crystals are designed to turn blue on contact with urine - to alert you to potential odors in the box and help you find and remove blue clumps easily.
