How does Deramaxx work? Deramaxx is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs inhibit the cell's production of chemicals that trigger inflammation. Arthritis in dogs and other forms of orthopedic and post-operative pain can be relieved with Deramaxx.
How is Deramaxx administered? Deramaxx is as available 25mg, 75mg, and 100 mg scored, chewable tablets. Deramaxx is given by mouth as a single daily dose. It may be given with food to reduce the chance of stomach/intestinal side effects. Always follow the dosage instructions provided by your veterinarian. This medication should only be given to the pet for which it was prescribed. For long-term use, the goal is to give the lowest dose needed to provide relief.
What results can I expect? Deramaxx does not cure dog arthritis or other joint abnormalities but can effectively manage symptoms of pain and inflammation. The response varies from dog to dog but can be dramatic. Pain relief can generally be seen within hours to days after administration. Symptoms may reoccur if Deramaxx is discontinued.

- Upset stomach (most common)
- Loss of appetite
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Dark, tarry or bloody stools or constipation
- Increased thirst and urination; changes in the urine color or smell
- Jaundice (yellowing of the gums, skin or eyes)
- Lethargy and incoordination
- Seizures or behavioral changes.
Signs of an Allergic Reaction:
- Facial swelling
- Hives and scratching
- Sudden onset of diarrhea or vomiting
- Seizures
- Pale gums, cold limbs or coma.
Usage Precautions:
- Do not use in breeding, pregnant or lactating dogs
- Do not use on cats
- Do not use with other anti-inflammitory medications
- May have other Vitamin, Supplement, Food and Test reactions
- Not for use in animals who are hypersensitive (allergic) to carprofen (Rimadyl, Novox), aspirin, etodolac (EtoGesic), firocoxib (Previcox), meloxicam (Metacam), tepoxalin (Zubrin), or other NSAIDs
- Not for use in dogs with less than 4-lbs of body weight, as accurate dosing cannot be made.
