Pancrezyme Powder For Dogs and Cats

Pancrezyme powder is a digestive aid that helps supplement dogs and cats who cannot digest carbohydrates, proteins, and fats due to exocrine pancreatic insufficiency.
What is Pancrezyme powder? Pancrezyme is a powder that contains whole raw porcine (pig) pancreas. This helps supplement dogs/cats that lack the appropriate enzymes necessary for digestion due to exocrine pancreatic insufficiency. Pancrezyme powder is formulated for: dogs and cats.
What are the benefits of Pancrezyme powder? Pancrezyme is a convenient way to supply pancreatic enzymes to animals that are not producing them. This product helps digest protein, carbohydrates, and fats. The powder formulation can be sprinkled on food making it easy to administer pancreatic enzymes to your pet.
How does Pancrezyme powder work? Pancrezyme powder replaces the enzymes that are normally produced by the pancreas. These enzymes are important for the proper digestion and absorption of fats, proteins, and carbohydrates. Dogs and cats with exocrine pancreatic insufficiency typically lack these enzymes so they need to be supplemented in order for digestion to occur normally.
How is Pancrezyme powder administered? Pancrezyme is given orally (by mouth). Give this medication exactly as directed by your veterinarian. Pancrezyme is given with food. The powder should be mixed with your pet’s food and a little water if your pet eats dry food. Let the mixture stand for 15-20 minutes before offering it to your pet. Small, more frequent meals are recommended. In most cases, this medication needs to be administered indefinitely in order to control your pet’s problem.
What results can I expect? Your pet’s digestion should improve rapidly. Weight gain and improvement in stools and hair coat may take some time so be patient. If Pancrezyme is discontinued, symptoms will likely reoccur.
What Form(s) does Pancrezyme powder come in? Powder comes in 8 oz and 12 oz sizes.
