Gabapentin is used for the oral treatment for pain in dogs and cats, as well as the treatment of seizure disorders from anticonvulsive activity. It may also be used in the treatment of seizure disorders. It is a anticonvulsant and may be used to relieve chronic pain. Always follow the dosage instructions provided by your veterinarian. If you have difficulty giving the medication, contact your veterinarian. Dosage Instructions:
Dogs and Puppies:
For seizures: 4.5 mg-13.5 mg per pound every 8-12 hours
For pain: 1.4 mg per pound once a day
Cats and Kittens:
For seizures: 2.3 mg per pound 3 times a day
For pain: 1.4 mg per pound once a day
