In 1980, Moyer & Son purchased the Scarlett Seed Company which was located in the inner harbor of Baltimore, Maryland. Scarlett Company sold germinating seeds, wild bird seeds, and domestic bird foods since 1896.

In 1985 Moyer sold the germinating division of Scarlett and decided to move the production of the wild bird and companion bird food to their home facility located in Souderton, Pennsylvania.

Today, thousands of tons of quality Scarlett companion bird, wild bird, and small animal foods are still produced at the Souderton, Pennsylvania facility. The name "Scarlett" is associated with quality at a competitive price. Over the years there have been extensive improvements made in mixing, seed cleaning, bagging, packaging, and marketing.
